The Faculty Workload and Rewards Project

Project Activities

Department teams participate in several core activities as part of the project.

  1. A workshop sharing the latest social science research on implicit bias as it relates to how faculty work is taken up, assigned, and rewarded and strategies to reduce that bias.
  2. Creation of faculty work activity dashboards using locally available teaching and service data, supported by project leaders and templates they provide.
  3. Examination and adoption of work practices and policies to proactively share collective teaching and service work.
  4. Professional development for department faculty on becoming a good ally for workload fairness and on time managment and saying yes and no strategically.
